Steve Denning, MBA ’78 accepts the Ernest C. Arbuckle Award for excellence in management leadership from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, presented by Gene Sykes, MBA '84, on May 3, 2018. Steve serves as chairman of General Atlantic LLC, a global private equity firm. He joined the firm in 1980 and has built the organization into a leading global growth investment firm with thirteen offices around the globe and over $25 billion of assets under management. Steve is former chairman of the Stanford University Board of Trustees and serves on the advisory board of the Stanford University Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program and the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council. The award was created in 1968 in honor of the late Stanford GSB dean whose name it bears. Recipients demonstrate a commitment to both managerial excellence and to addressing the changing needs of society.
