“Engine of Impact: Maximizing Your Personal Impact As A Philanthropist, Nonprofit Executive, or Board Leader”
When high-performing leaders turn their attention from creating wealth to creating impact—from working in the business sector to operating in the nonprofit sector—they confront a new set of challenges. Whether they opt to serve as donors, board members, or nonprofit executives, they require a fresh set of tools in order to continue performing at a high level. Jon Levin, the Philip H. Knight Professor and the 10th Dean of Stanford Graduate School of Business, interviews GSB Lecturers Bill Meehan, MBA 78, and Kim Jonker, MBA '01, as they discuss leadership tools presented in their book, Engine of Impact: Essentials of Strategic Leadership in the Nonprofit Sector. Drawing from principles outlined in Engine of Impact, Kim and Bill touch on the essential components that form an "engine of impact"—a system that organizations and leaders must build, tune, and fuel if they hope to make a real difference in the world.
This Stanford GSB Fall Reunion/Alumni Weekend faculty presentation was recorded on October 28, 2017.
