John Deere has been managing a world at the intersection of physical and digital for well over a decade, said John Deere CEO Sam Allen. The company is now moving from helping farmers manage fields to using technology to manage individual plants. "We've had a vision for where we want to go with precision agriculture, and digital is at the foundation for us." During his visit to the Systems Leadership class on May 10, 2018, Allen discussed with Lecturer Robert Siegel how Deere will continue to evolve as it blends digital and industrial capabilities on a global basis.
