6. Martin B.: I like David Icke's definition of fear which is; F.E.A.R. = False Emotion Appearing Real. Mark Passio says Fear is the opposite of Love. There's a comment here that says it's the opposite of Trust which also makes sense, and I guess we could also say that Knowledge can help it go away as well. However we describe it here, one thing for sure is that it's a very important element used by the ''Elite'' to control the world so,,, No Fear!..

10. shawn wonders: Tbh, many people fear death, Christians fear hell, Africans during the triangular trade era feared enslavement by the Europeans, many Americans fear for reelection and the world fears for WW3. This is a generalization but we all know about these things and how they can come about. I believe that fear is necessary and that it's antonym is "calm" moreso the state of being calm. But the question is, can you be calmed by fear,? Can someone find the idea of fear soothing? This may seem idiotic to think about but if you bypass actual definition and tread the philosophical ground it makes you wonder if, people can love fearing for their lives, living on edge, embraces and becomes content with being under the rule of someone or something that is wicked and vile/corrupt. It's almost like saying can evil be good or can war be peaceful. The more i look at the world ( when in a philosophical mood) I think of this.

12. Robert Dorr: +Marco Wouters Understanding is different from knowledge in that knowledge is a thing that is known and understanding is to make sense of that known thing. It affects the body because our bodies do and go where we like based on our understanding of things. Our understanding is the arm that swings the hammer. Possibly.

Marco Wouters: +Robert Dorr We are in fear because we lack trust...The thing is that it actualy has to be trust which lies opposite to fear since I am able to fall in love with a small fluffy animal without knowing anyhting about it. I don't fear the fluffy animal...i trust it; even if my understanding of it is lacking or false. And for what i understand about "understanding" is that it doesn't affect your body, "like hormone levels etc..." in any way, trusting does...it calms the mind and body. Understanding is just knowlegde, trust is an innerfeeling, like fear.
14. Robert Dorr: +Marco Wouters It sounds like what you mean to say is that fear is the opposite of understanding, which I think is pretty solid. If we have correct understanding, then even things which will be life ending need not be feared if there is no possible way to avoid them(which we will only know through a thorough and accurate understanding). Trust is proximal and understanding is distal in the elimination of fear. We trust, because we understand. But, we are not in fear because we lack trust. Understanding causes the effect of trust, whereafter fear is eliminated. Maybe, :)

17. Marco Wouters: When you fear fear itself you are actualy afraid of the unknown, i would say. A known aspect of fear is that it arises when you lack knowlegde about the situation you are currently in. Get educated about what fear actualy means to you and it should disapear like snow for the sun since you then no longer lack the knowlegde. For short...You fear fear because it's "the unknown".

23. Robert Dorr: +Anna F It sounds like you speak of love in the version of an attitude and not as a consequence of being without fear. Example - the murderer feared apprehension, once secure he would go undiscovered he returned to his murdering. No love there on the part of the murderer, but having become secure through understanding, his fear was then eliminated.
