Addressing an emergency executive committee meeting of the party, Mr. Stalin said he pleaded with Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, holding his hands, to allot a space near the Anna memorial. “But he said rules are against it, and the legal opnion is not in favour. But I told him, legal opinion reflects the government’s stand.” Subsequently, DMK lawyers, led by T. Wilson, were able to get an order in favour of the burial at the Marina, he said.
