Eclipse, a Fabbri Giant Ferris Wheel opened in 2003 in the Lost City area, on the section of land now occupied by Rush. It stood at around 80 feet tall, had 108 seats and gave great views of the park. It was also a way of relaxing as at the time, there were a large number of thrill rides at the park. Also it was the only ride in Lost City not to be considered a thrill ride. At the end of the 2004 it was decided that Eclipse was to be removed and transferred to Chessington World of Adventures as Peeking Height, as part of the most that saw Samurai come to Thorpe Park. As a ride it was never very popular with guests. It would be replaced with Rush “The world’s largest speed swing” that opened in May 2005. -------------------------------- Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
